With that being said, if you plan on visiting the city of Boston this summer – consider visiting the beautiful North End! In today’s blog, we’ll be taking a closer look at why this neighborhood is truly special. Keep reading below!
What Makes the North End so Unique?
To put it simply, there are very few neighborhoods in America that are similar to the North End – and vice versa. The character of the North End is strikingly Old-World and European-esque, which can be attributed to its storied history that dates back to colonial times.
Dating all the way back to the 17th century, there was plenty of life happening in the North End. In fact, while the city was still in its infancy, the North End served as the city’s hub of influential and important Bostonians. Paul Revere, for one, once called the North End home, and it is where his homestead still stands today. Though centuries have passed, the North End predominantly remains the same jn character, largely thanks to its brick buildings and colonial-style architecture. Even today, any walk through the North End is almost sure to be somewhat of a time capsule.
If there’s one strength about the North End, it’s that it balances historical value and charm exceptionally well. Though it’s centuries-old, the neighborhood feels as if it has stood the test of time remarkably well – this is something you can feel while visiting or living in the North End. There is a unique feeling to the neighborhood that is difficult to replicate.
